How To Tell If Your Contact Lens Is Inside Out

How to tell if your contact lens is inside out. If its the right way it should have a full curve like a bowl. If your contact lens is inside out it will have the shape of a rimmed bowl. The lens is correctly oriented if it forms a cup shape with its edges in an upright position. Your contact lens may be slightly folded.
If it looks like a mixing bowl edges pointing straight up youre good to go. Look at your lens. If its inside out the sides will be straighter like the letter v. If its right side up the rim will create a perfect cup shape.
An inverted lens will stick to the fingers when squeezed. The edges will curve upright. Place the contact lens on the tip of your index finger so the edge of the lens is pointing up. Your contact is inside out if you notice an outward bend.
Place the lens on your fingertip and examine it closely. Find a well lit area and put your contact lens on the tip of your finger so that the edges are pointing upwards. If the sides are rolled along the edge or folded up then theyre inside out. Hold your finger close to your eye.
When it is correct your contact lens will have the shape of a cup. To start the taco test place the contact lens in question between the tips of your forefinger and thumb. Look closely at the edge of the lens. Make sure the edge of the lens is pointing up.
Then hold your finger up directly in front of your eyes so you can look at the lens from the side. Now bring your finger close to your eyes and look at the lens from the side. Your contact lens may be on your cheek on the front of your clothes on the counter in the sink or on the floor.
