Add enough cold water until it is at least 1 inch above the eggs. Add more water so that the eggs are covered by at least an inch or two of water.

If you want a soft boiled egg with a firm white and a warm jammy yolk just a bit runny in the center this one will suit your taste. Add up to 4 eggs and let sit for 5 7 minutes.
