How To Clean The Outside Bottom Of A Burnt Pan
You can clean the outside of your pan using a combination of plain baking soda and water.
How to clean the outside bottom of a burnt pan. Pour a small layer of equal parts water and white vinegar on the bottom of the pan. Scrub on the pan with a nonabrasive sponge or washcloth and rinse the pan with warm water. After it boils for a minute remove it from the heat and drain the vinegar down the sink. To clean a burnt pan bottom create a baking soda and water paste as explained above and scrub the pan with that mixture.
If your burn is extra tough to lift you can try soaking the bottom of your pan in a mixture of vinegar and baking soda before scrubbing with a pad. Of baking soda with an equal amount of water if you have a stubborn burn stain. To restore discoloration and remove any remaining stubborn stains cut a lemon in half and cover with salt as you rub the outside of the cookware. Spread the paste over the burnt surface of your pan wrapping the entire pan in cling film if necessary to hold the baking soda to uneven surfaces.
Apply the paste over the burn and allow the baking soda to sit overnight. Most marks came off and some elbow grease was required to do it but the results were nice on both the stainless steel and cast iron pan bottoms. Rinse off the salt and then wash and dry as usual. To remove stains soak your pan in hot water then gently rub away the burnt food.
Heat the diluted vinegar on the stovetop and allow it to come to a boil.
